Instruction For Buttock Augmentation
If you only had a fat transfer procedure then the following postoperative instructions apply. If you had another procedure done at the same time please check with the staff to see which instructions will apply best for you.
Buttocks augmentation with fat grafting and transfer
Hygiene:
Shower can be taken the next day after the procedure. No sitting in the tub is allowed before two weeks have gone by. If the entry site of the canula has been sutured. The sutures will be removed at 3 to 5 days. Paint with "Betadine" antiseptic the surgical entry site after your shower. No other wound care is needed.
Activity:
You need to ambulate as much as possible. You can resume running, or treadmill activities as soon as you feel up to it. However exercises that require you to be sitting in order to perform the activity properly are not allowed before three weekshave gone by from the date of surgery.
Diet:
You can resume your pre-operative diet anytime. Do not hesitate to take stool softeners to avoid straining during bowel movements. Make sure that the pressure is on the thighs when you sit on the toilet seat and not on your operated buttocks.
Sitting and resting:
No sitting on the surgical area is allowed for two weeks in order to maintain good circulation and adequate delivery of nutrients to the fat cells that were transferred. This is important to ensure the survival of the largest number of fat cells.
Use the foam provided for three weeks when you are lying on your back in order to elevate the buttocks and prevent unnecessary pressure on the operated area. Lying or sleeping on the sides is not allowed for three weeks.
The garment is to be worn at all times for three weeks.
Intercourse:
Gentle intercourse can occur at two weeks after surgery without pressing on the surgical area.
Buttock augmentation with soft solid silicone implants
If you had Buttock Augmentation with implants with or without fat grafting the, following instructions will apply.
Hygiene:
No shower is allowed until the drains are removed. No sitting in the tub is allowed for three weeks after surgery. After a shower or after use of the bathroom maintain the tape keeping the buttocks together for the first three weeks.
Wound care:
Once the initial bandages have been removed, paint the Steri-Strips tape twice a day with " Betadine" antiseptic solution. There are no sutures to be removed. They are placed underneath the skin and will slowly dissolve after 2 to 3 weeks. Be extremely diligent with respect to the drains and make sure you understand how to care for it. Back Lift Goal:
Tighten the loose and saggy skin on the back.
Incision: At the upper underwear line.
Procedure: Pull the sagging skin down and remove the excess skin.
Result: Overall tightening that makes the whole back look slim, however, there will be a scar that goes across the lower back, along the underwear line.
Brazilian Buttock Lift
Goal: Add volume and/or projection to the butt to achieve the patient’s desired fullness.
Incision: There will be injections, no incision.
Procedure: Fat is harvested from other areas of the body and injected into the buttocks.
Result: Idea is to have a fuller and yet softer feeling butt that will complement the rest of the body.
Buttock Augmentation
Goal: Add volume and/or projection to the butt to achieve the patient’s desired fullness.
Incision: At the intergluteal cleft: the groove between the butt cheeks.
Procedure: A soft and solid implant is inserted into the buttock area.
Result: A fuller and soft butt that will complement the rest of the body.
The Scar in Buttock Augmentation
The incisions for buttocks augmentation are made in the midline, with one incision on each side. This technique ensures the proper maintenance of cleavage while preventing the skin from pulling away from the tailbone, resulting in easier and faster wound healing. The scar is located 1 cm away from the midline on both sides and measures between seven and 8 cm in length. When the buttocks are augmented, the skin is gently pulled back, making the scar virtually invisible within the depth of the created cleavage.
