In a bifid nose, the cartilage at the tip of the nose is split. The nose has three main parts: 1. The top part near your eyebrows, which is made of bone. 2. The middle part, which has cartilage called the upper lateral cartilage. 3. The bottom part, called the alar cartilage, which forms the nostrils. In a bifid nose, the alar cartilages are separated, making the tip of the nose look wider. Surgery can fix this by reshaping the cartilages and bringing them together to make the tip sharper. Fillers can be used too, but they need to be re-injected every 9 to 12 months and won’t narrow the tip of the nose. However, enough filler can create a small bump that makes the tip look thinner
