Fixing Complications
People ask me why is it that I don’t like to fix complication from procedures done by somebody else. The following example will clearly illustrate it.
A very satisfied patient of mine was getting compliments at a party. An acquaintance approached her and asked: who did your surgery? The patient gave my name. This acquaintance said well he didn’t do a good job with my eyes.
I checked my records and it turned out she had a major complication from a procedure done by somebody else. Too much skin had been removed and there was a lot of scarring between the muscles of the eyelids and the skin. Upon her insistence I tried to remedy her situation. I significantly improved her functional problem and in part the appearance.
Now I am punished for a good deeds. She is going around, claiming that I gave her a bad outcome.
