Pre- and Post-Operative Care for Thigh Lift
Pre-Operative Care:
- The patient needs to stop taking aspirin three weeks before surgery.
- The patient should wash their body with antibacterial soap the night before and the morning of surgery.
- The patient must arrive at the surgery center with an empty stomach; no eating or drinking after midnight.
Post-Operative Care:
- There will be drains, and you need to refer to the management of drains. There are printed instructions and a video for that.
- The compression garment can be removed for short periods of time but must be worn day and night for the first three weeks after surgery, and then at night for another three weeks.
- When the drains are removed, the patient can shower. The incision should be painted with Betadine antiseptic after the shower.
- Steri-strips will be applied after the surgery. If they start to come off after 48 hours, it is fine.
